Water is not just some one-dimensional liquid to be gulped down without reflection. Water quality affects our environment, our health and how long we live.
The Director of KYK Science and Technology Research Center, Dr. Kim Young Kwi, has been collecting accolades, awards and recognition as a leader in the science of good water. Consumption of red meat, chemically processed foods, and other instant modern conveniences adversely affect already stressed modern human beings, and result in oxidative stress and deterioration of the immune system’s ability to ward off chronic and degenerative diseases. The human body consists of about 70% water, blood contains about 83%, and cells contain more than 90% water. Therefore the role of water is critical, and the quality of the consumed water determines the overall health of all individuals.
During the Cho Sun Dynasty, ancient medicine specialist, Eui-Sung Huh Joon, divided water into 33 categories as well as several hundred different types. Today, it can be stated that there are two major categories of water: whether the water in question tends to oxidize or deoxidize. The oxidizing water, for example, will rust any steel exposed to it, where as deoxidizing water will not.
ORP (Oxidation Reduction Potential) measures the oxidizing ability of a given material. For example, the higher +mV (symbol abbreviation for millivolt), the stronger the tendency to oxidate. Conversely, the lower –mV will result in a stronger tendency of the material to deoxidize.
World famous waters, such as France’s Lourdes water and Germany’s Nordenau well water, are known to have powerful antioxidant effects and have become famous due to the benefits enjoyed by those who drink and use water from such sources. Today, anyone can enjoy similar benefits of powerful antioxidant water at home.
Dr. Kim Young Kwi, famed water expert and director of KYK Water Science and Research Center, developed an advanced active hydrogen water generator for household use. Dr. Kim’s alkaline water ionizer, not available in Japan where similar primitive devices had originally been introduced in the past, created an explosive demand and is now negotiating to export the units to Japan and other countries.
In Japan similar alkaline water ionizers approved as medicinal apparatus had been sold to the Korean market for years. Dr. Kim succeeded in developing an alkaline water ionizer which is far superior and more advanced than the famed Japanese brands. As result of the explosive demand, he is now negotiating to export his alkaline water ionizer to Japan.
Further, Dr. Kim’s unique alkaline water ionizer is available in three product categories. The KYK-9040 (Harmony) electrolyzed water converter which will be exported to the Japanese market KYK-3388 (with 3 Korean patents) is a Cold and Hot Alkaline Water Ionizer. Kim Young Kwi Antioxidant Bottled Water is made with the famed natural mineral water from Ji Ri Mountain.

Broadcast Special – “Behind CEO Kim Young Kwi’s Success Director, Kim Young Kwi,” Recipient of the 2005 Ministry of Science Technology Award, and Jang Young-Sil Science and Culture Golden Award
On March 15, 2006, SBS TV broadcasted its 35th installment of "Power of Korea!" a documentary highlighting the success story behind Dr. Kim Young Kwi. Realizing the importance of water from early on, Dr. Kim devoted 25 years of his life into research and development of water, and despite personal hardships and failures, he became a real life success story.
Dr. Kim was honored with the "Jang Young-Sil (famous scientist in the Korean history) Science and Culture Gold Award." In 2005 he received the Ministry of Science and Technology Award. In 2004 he was designated as the business leader of science and technology in Korea and given the top prize.
In the past, the majority of Korean people depended on well water, after which they became dependent on the municipal water supply and tap water which is polluted with industrial wastes, thus forcing people to use water purifiers. Today more and more Koreans are striving to follow the tenets of the Well Being Movement, and it is the right time for them to choose water that will improve their health.
Because of his research in electrolysis and perfection of producing alkaline ionized water comparable to the world famous Lourdes water from France, his Cold Alkaline Water Ionizer/Purifier is garnering praise and astonishment from businesses and consumers in Japan. After the broadcast was aired, a flood of consumers inquired about the Alkaline Water Ionizer. In addition, countless more consumers are now familiar with the human story behind his success, resulting in the credibility and recognition of Dr. Kim’s accomplishments.

Since the units are superior, more advanced, and cost less than famed Japanese brands, KYK Alkaline Water Ionizers developed and made in Korea are now under contract to be exported to Japan, a country where such machines had originated.
On January 14, 2006, KYK signed a contract with a Japanese firm, identified as I Incorporated, to supply the KYK-9040 model to Japan. I Incorporated was thoroughly impressed with KYK’s unit. Before making an offer and signing the contract with KYK, they had twice vigorously tested the machine and technology behind it. I Incorporated, which also owns a cable television operation, chose Dr. Kim Young Kwi as the spokesperson to spearhead the marketing of the soon to be imported alkaline water ionizers.
The target sales volume is set at 10,000 units or more per year. As the unit represents the height of Korean technology, the fact that it will be sold in the Japanese market should make Korea proud.

"You cannot mention basis of human life without mentioning water. Water is not some common colorless and odorless commodity or substance. The origin of life on earth could not have been possible without water, nor can life sustain itself on earth without the continued existence of the miraculous substance known as water."
According to Dr. Kim, "Beyond the current fad of the Well Being movement in Korea, we are now in the midst of an environmentally aware LOHAS (Life of Health and Sustainability) stage. However, we lack the essential knowledge and awareness of the relationship between water and health." He further added, "Water controls all aspects of the human body and health. Nothing else is more important."
Dr. Kim explains why water is so important: "Water can be viewed as a sacred icon for the life of cells. Genetic life span and the well-being of cells depend on water. While water can exist with out genes, genes cannot exist without water to support continued existence." The root of all modern chronic illness is due to active oxygen (oxidation). Only active hydrogen can defeat active oxygen. Oxidation makes even seemingly strong material like steel to rust over time.
The same oxidation processes rapidly accelerate the aging of the human body and invite chronic and degenerative illnesses. Oxidation is the loss or removal of an electron by a molecule. This chemical process naturally takes place in many different materials as well as within all life forms. It has long been recognized that all chronic and degenerative illnesses, aside from infectious diseases, originate from within the body and are caused by oxidative damage to biological systems.
Not only does oxidation increase the acid level within human bodies, but it is also a key contributing factor in creating free radicals. A free radical is a molecule or atom that contains an unpaired electron, but it is neither positively nor negatively charged, and usually it is highly reactive and unstable. While some oxidation is useful in helping human bodies thwart viruses and micro-organisms, it is the overabundance of free radical production which causes oxidative stress.
Damages to cell membranes, enzymes, and DNA is caused by free radicals roaming throughout the body, randomly attacking cells in an attempt to stabilize the unpaired electron. Certain free radicals occur naturally. For example, breathing oxygen accounts for about 3% of free radical production in human bodies. Other causes of free radical production are exposure to electromagnetic fields, ultraviolet radiation, and stress. However, by far the largest source of free radicals in human bodies is the intestines.
Instead of helping the body to absorb nutrients, vitamins, and generate necessary amino acids from consumed foods, free radicals corrupt cells and generate foul-smelling poisonous waste products. If an individual is passing wind or stool accompanied by an unusually strong or pungent stench, then that person’s intestinal health and environment should be held suspect. The health of the intestinal environment is determined by water.
In famous villages where villagers regularly live past the average life span of city dwellers, it is a well known fact that their stool is usually of a golden or copper color and does not reek with an unpleasant odor. This is due to drinking clean water. Oxidation-fighting electrolyzed (ionized) purified water restores the intestinal health and environment, and fights the damage caused by free radicals produced by oxidative stress.
Dr. Kim Young Kwi, in the midst of researching the many different curative as well as healing properties of water, discovered how electrolyzed purified water removes free radicals caused by metabolic oxidation. Dr. Kim further concentrated his scientific research efforts to discover how ions play a central role in this process. His scientific discovery was profiled on CBS-TV show, "The Secret behind the Water of Life," and covered in the weekly newspaper, "World of Water." He also launched an alkaline water ionizer for home use, helping consumers to gain health benefits, and gathering praises and accolades.
Electrolyzed water consists of positively charged hydrogen atoms responsible for supplying acid minerals and alkaline minerals. In other words, ionized water contains nanometer-sized particles when combined with activated oxygen (i.e., H+H+ +O-=H2O) and produces clean water which can be consumed with no ill effects or negative reactions.
According to Dr. Kim, "No one can thrive or lead a healthy life by consuming polluted and contaminated water on daily basis. Therefore it is critical that human beings stop polluting such an important resource." He further added, "Even if just 1% of the water we consume comes from a clean source, it will improve everyone’s health in a dramatic fashion. Therefore, consumption of electrolyzed water should be considered the most economical and sure-fire way to improve the overall health of human beings."
Dr. Kim is continuing his lifelong quest of researching the science and technology of clean healthy water. He continues to enhance his world-leading alkaline water ionizer, in order to improve the lives of his fellow human beings. His ultimate goal is to obtain world recognition by earning the Nobel Prize which will make all Koreans proud of his achievements.
